so I’m thinking about going back to being a vegatarian. I tried it for lent since i was raised a catholic (which I’m not sure how I feel about at the moment but that’s an entirely different story which I’ll go into if you message me).

But anyway for lent we fast for 40 days. You can either actually fast and only drink water and eat bread, maybe only eat one meal a day, or you can pick something in particular that you really like and give it up for the 40 days of Lent. An example would be dough nuts, or complaining. I gave up complaining last year and I didn’t do very well but life goes on. Also on every Friday we don’t consume meat of any kind. only fish. The past two Lent’s I gave up meat entirely, mostly because I felt it was for a good cause while healthy and a challenge. and since i was already doing it every Friday why not do it all week.

It wasn’t particularly difficult for me. the only challenge really was to remember not to eat meat if it was served to me without my consent, say if i were over a friend’s house and they didn’t know i wasn’t eating meat at all (for lent), I would have to warn them that i was a vegetarian (for lent) and then only eat whatever they made meatless. so that was a bother but only because I myself, forgot to tell them. That was my own fault.

But this time I’m going to start this afternoon and see how long I can last, hopefully for the rest of my life, and I’m also going to do more research and try to convince myself entirely that this is for a good cause. The main reason I’m doing this is that I feel like I should be a lot more compassionate towards every living being on this planet, not just humans. Most of the time a lot of the humans I meet are not worth any compassion, so why waste it on them when I can spend it on these helpless animals.

So here we go.

Did you know that beekeepers have famously attractive eyes ? Every single one of them . I don’t know the science behind it , but studies show beauty is in the eye of the bee holder .
